Alliance formed to fight childhood obesity, announced today that it will provide grant recipients in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut with heart rate monitors, assessment technology, and training as part of a program sponsored by EnergyNow!.

"Technology, such as heart rate monitors, provide teachers with an accurate picture of students' fitness level and progress while helping students to understand their bodies-an important step in fighting childhood obesity."
As part of the alliance, Polar brings 10 years of experience working with schools to help revolutionize physical education programs with its innovative technology. By integrating the company's technology into these programs, known as "The New PE," students learn how to understand their body and engage in activity levels that are appropriate for their individual needs, without sacrificing the quality of their exercise.
